Ductile Iron Manhole Cover is made of ductile iron. The surface is usually treated with anti rust asphalt paint. It has the characteristics of high strength, good toughness, light weight, and corrosion resistance. FRP/composite manhole cover is made of glass fiber and its products (glass cloth, tape, felt, yarn, etc.) as reinforcing material, and synthetic resin as matrix material, which mainly consists of unsaturated polyester resin, filler, initiator, thickener, low shrinkage additives, film molding agent, pigment and reinforcing material, etc. SMC, BMC materials are composite materials.
BMC (DMC) material is the abbreviation of Bulk (Dough) molding compounds, that is, dough molding compound. Domestic often called unsaturated polyester mass molding compound. Its main raw material by GF (short-cut glass fiber), UP (unsaturated resin), MD (filler) and a variety of additives by the full mixture of dough-like prepreg. SMC composite material is the abbreviation of Sheet molding compound. The main raw material consists of GF (special yarn), UP (unsaturated resin), low shrinkage additives, MD (filler) and various additives. It first appeared in Europe in the early 1960s in the twentieth century, in 1965 or so, the United States and Japan have developed this process. China in the late 80's, the introduction of foreign advanced SMC production lines and production processes. SMC composites and its SMC molded products, with excellent electrical insulation properties, mechanical properties, thermal stability, chemical corrosion resistance. So the application range of SMC products is quite common. Now the development trend is that SMC composites replace BMC materials.
